Witness David Smith reported an apparent abduction event in 1975. He states he was sleeping and became aware he was outside his house and inside a flying saucer. He recalls being taken inside the craft, observing a curved interior with a walkway rail and a lower interior floor area described as an 'operating room' with chairs, adjustable lights, and a table. He reports seeing a man in a United States Air Force uniform who appeared angry, approximately 4-5 human doctors, and possibly a tall, large-eyed, long-limbed entity he perceived as friendly. He believes a procedure resembling brain surgery was performed on him, during which he felt he left his body. The witness reported feeling helpless and overwhelmed throughout. The event was not consciously processed as real until he read Whitley Strieber's 'Communion' in 1989 or 1990.

- This was an abduction. Only after reading Communion was I able to entertain the possibility that this could have been REAL!... it was 1975, October - I was sleeping when I began to gradually become aware that I was outside my house and inside the side of a flying saucer!
