Witness William J. Doores Jr. observed a single object in the night sky while working on a deck at approximately 2 a.m. The object initially appeared to be a star, then began moving and blinking, leading the witness to think it was a plane. It then stopped and made erratic, rapid movements inconsistent with any known aircraft. The object approached the witness, growing in apparent size from a pinhead to roughly the size of a dime relative to the full moon, becoming brighter as it closed, then shot back to its original position. Through binoculars, the object appeared orangish-yellowish and reddish, with lights appearing to revolve counterclockwise and cycling through different light configurations. The object blinked on and off and moved at extreme speed, leaving a visible light trace between positions. The witness videotaped the object for approximately 8-9 minutes, capturing erratic movements and at least one high-speed transit spanning roughly one lunar diameter. The witness woke his wife Sandra, who also observed the object but could not identify it. Two police officers were dispatched after the witness called 911 (via operator referral) but the object had departed before they arrived. No sound was heard at any time.

- it made no noise. And then it shot back, you know, back to, like the moon, maybe, as you're looking at it, maybe within an inch of the moon from where I was standing, where it used to be maybe six inches from it.
